"ENTROPY, COMPLEXITY"

"ENTROPY, COMPLEXITY"

The second principle of thermodynamics states that in an isolated system entropy tends to increase in time irreversibly. Universe marks the borders of an isolated system, so the second principle is valid: if universe lives for a sufficiently long time, it will asymptotically reach a state in which all the energy is distributed in every direction evenly, and no more energetic process, included life, will be possible.

From the supreme order of Big Bang to the thermic death of the universe. White and black. All and nothing. Values that can be considered as interchangeable.

And yet it is halfway in this process that the most interesting events occur. "Complexity" emerges, as a close system made by different parts that interact following particular relationships. The easiest symbol of complexity is life itself, from the procaryotes to human being and the mystery of consciousness. We are maybe in the most interesting and complex era in the life of universe. The game of life before going back in the eternal numbness.
